What is fucoidan?

Fucoidan is the slimy substance found marine brown seaweeds such as Mozuku (Cladosiphon okamuranus), Mekabu (Undaria pinnatifida) or Kombu (Laminaria japonica), for instance. The chemical component of Fucoidan is referred to a group of polysaccharides containing sulfated fucose.
